Options For Repairing A Dent In Your Vehicle At Home
If you recently experienced a mishap that caused your vehicle to end up with an unsightly dent in its body, and you do not wish to leave your vehicle in a damaged state, action is necessary to repair the flaw. There are a few ways a dent can be remedied without you needing it to leave your driveway.
Try Moving The Metal With Help From Temperature Control
If the dented portion of your vehicle is not expansive, you may be able to use cold and hot temperatures to help encourage the flawed metal to pop back into its original location. This is done by first covering the dent with a piece of aluminum foil so the temperature setting remains in place for several minutes while you conduct the process. After the foil is in place, apply dry ice to the foil for several minutes to cool down the metal. After you remove the dry ice, immediately use a hairdryer to heat up the metal in the location where the foil is positioned. Repeat this process several times. You will hear a popping sound within the metal if the session is successful.
Use A Plunger To Pull The Dent Out Of The Metal
A plunger can be used to try to pull the pushed metal back to its original positioning. A dent pulling plunger can be purchased from an auto supply store. Position the flange part of the plunger directly over the dent and push upon the handle portion so the flange creates a tight seal upon the metal. Pull the handle toward you briskly. This process may need to be repeated several times, depending upon the severity of the dent.

Using one of these services allows for your vehicle to remain on your property throughout the entire repair process. This gives you the peace of mind that you do not need to drop off and pick up your vehicle and you have the added bonus of spectating while the repair work is being conducted.
